Hey, everybody. Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2013 Ford C-Max, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Roadmaster crossbar-style base plate kit. Well, before we do that, why don't we check it out and make sure that this is the right setup for you So I figured before we get kinda too carried away and, you know, really start talking about the base plate and how it works and everything else like that, I figured it'd be useful to go over the main components that we're gonna need to flat tow our C-Max down the road in the first place. There's gonna be a total of five main components needed to get your C-Max down the road behind your motor home. First one's gonna be the base plate. more

Blue Ox Base Plate Installation - 2017 Ford C-Max- Video
Hey, everyone. Shane here, with etrailer.com. Today I have a 2017 Ford C-Max. I'm gonna walk you through how to install the Blue Ox removable tabs base plate. The base plate is gonna attach to the chassis of the vehicle to give us that solid connection point for our tow bar. Tow bar connects to the chassis, or connects to the motor home side, to allow us to flat tow the vehicle. more

Today on our 2016 Ford C-Max, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit.Now, this is going to be one of five main components for your setup. The five components for a flat tow setup are going to be your base plate, your diode wiring kit, your breaking system, a tow bar, and safety cables. The base plate is going to give us a solid connection point, that way we can hook our tow bars to the base plate to the motor home. Now what I really like about this base plate is when we're not using it, it's not going to be too noticeable. more

Roadmaster EZ2 Base Plate Kit Installation - 2015 Ford C-Max- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Ford C-Max, we're going to be installing Roadmaster's EZ2 base plate. Part number 524432-1.This is what your base plate's going to look like when it's fully installed. As you can see here, most of it's going to be hidden behind your fascia. There's going to be a little bit sticking out. However, these portions here that connect to your tow bar are removable. Twist, and they slide out. more

Blue Ox Base Plate Installation - 2015 Ford C-Max- Video
Today I've got our 2015 Ford C-Max. We're going to be taking a look at and installing the Blue Ox Baseplate Kit, part# BX2639. I'll show you how to put in the attachment tab assembly. This is what you're going to mount your tow bar to. Simply press it in, you'll feel it kind of lock in. Pull this pin back, rotate it, and that's locked. They're easy to put in. more

Roadmaster EZ2 Base Plate Kit Installation - 2014 Ford C-Max- Video
Today on our 2014 Ford C-Max we'll be installing the Roadmaster EZ2 Base Plate Kit with Removable Arms, part number 524432-1. To being our install we're first going to go ahead and open the hood. Next we're going to locate the four push pin fasteners across the top of the front grill. To remove these fasteners we can simply use a flat blade screwdriver, pry up on the center of the fastener, releasing it and then removing the fastener. With my first one out I'll repeat the same process with the other three. Next we're going to pull back on the grill to locate the fasteners underneath, pop them free so we can remove it. Once you locate the fasteners we're going to use a flat blade screw driver to get between the fascia and the grill, pushing down on the fascia to release the fastener. We'll just slowly work our way across being careful not to brake the attachment points. more

Blue Ox Base Plate Installation - 2013 Ford C-Max- Video
Today on this 2013 Ford C-Max , were going to install part number BX2639 from Blue Ox. First thing we need to do is get underneath the hood. Using a flat screwdriver were going to remove two pushpins from the top back edge of the face shield, theres two on the drivers side and two on the passengers side. Next were going to remove a torque screw, the one right behind the headlight from the face shield. Well do this on both sides. All right, now were going to go down to the fender wheel. more
